Record Money Bet In Vegas On Super Bowl 50

LAS VEGAS (The Sports Xchange) – Super Bowl 50 went into the record books in Las Vegas as more money was bet on the game than any other Super Bowl for many sportsbooks.

Multiple betting sites told after the Broncos upset the Carolina Panthers 24-10 on Sunday night that a record amount of money was bet in Nevada.

Carolina closed as a consensus five-point favorite, with the over/under closing at 43.5 at most books. The state’s books won $3.2 million on last year’s Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks and the earnings from this year’s game are expected to be much larger.

“We had a really good Super Bowl,” Ed Salmons of the Westgate SuperBook told ESPN. “No complaints here. The handle was the most we’ve ever had, and the win was really good.”
