Osvaldo Ruiz was arrested early Sunday morning after hitting a convenience store clerk with a banana

CARSON CITY, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) —

Osvaldo Ruiz was arrested early Sunday morning after hitting a convenience store clerk with a banana and later crashing his vehicle into a nearby casino.

According to Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong, Osvaldo Ruiz was arrested after a vehicle and foot chase at 1:41 a.m. in the area of East Long Street. Ruiz crashed his vehicle into a natural gas line at Dotty’s Casino and caused the temporary evacuation of the casino. bannana

Carson City Sheriff’s Office and Carson City Fire Department both responded to the incident, but no injuries were reported.

Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said Ruiz has a long criminal history in the Carson City area. Ruiz was booked into the Carson City jail and his bail is set at $68,300.

Stephanie Mariskanish a Teachers’ aide from Eagle Valley Middle School  accused of sex with 14-year-old

Stephanie Mariskanish SEX OFENDERA teachers’ aide at Eagle Valley Middle School has been charged with four counts of having sex with a 14-year-old student.

Stephanie Mariskanish was charged in a criminal complaint filed Friday in Carson Justice Court.

Sexual conduct between a school employee aged 21 or older and any student is a Category B felony under Nevada law.

If convicted, each count carries a possible six years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

According to the complaint filed by Assistant District Attorney Mark Krueger, Mariskanish had sex with the boy at her apartment on Roop Street several times beginning in February of this year.mark-krueger-is-corrupt

The sexual contact allegedly happened Feb. 1-28. Mariskanish was described as a Para-Pro or teacher’s aide for special needs students.

She was arrested on the charges Friday after the complaint was filed.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team arrested a 27-year-old Dayton man Thursday after a needle filled with heroin was found after a traffic stop. David Scott Illig was arrested at 7:52 p.m. in the 3300 block of Highway 50 East.

UPDATE: A 36-year-old man is in custody this morning after allegedly robbing a customer at an ATM machine in front of Bank of America on William Street in Carson City.

The suspect, Fernando Romero, allegedly stole $340 from a customer who was using an ATM machine in the robbery. He is being held on a robbery charge with a bail amount of $40,000.

 

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A Carson City woman has been arrested for her alleged role in a theft operation targeting professional athletes and sports agents.

The attorney general’s office says 39-year-oldMegan Klein was booked Thursday on charges of identity theft, forgery and theft. It was not immediately known if she had a lawyer.

Prosecutors accuse Klein of being an accomplice for George French Jones, who was charged in Los Angeles in March of fraudulently peddling premium season tickets to Miami Heatgames and small ownership interests in the NBA team. Neither tickets nor ownership in the team was for sale.

The attorney general’s office says Klein is charged with defrauding a sports marketing agent and an attorney who wired Jones a combined $350,000.

The FBI is also involved in the investigation.

UPDATE: A suspect in a Friday morning bank robbery at Lake Tahoe was taken into custody in Carson City after being located by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, authorities said.

The suspect, Brent Muir, 55, of Carson City, was found by Carson City Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Mike Cullen after a vehicle pursuit by the FBI, Nevada Highway Patrol, Douglas County, Washoe County and Placer County, Calif., law officers.

A Carson City couple, who stole $9,000.01 from a 75-year-old neighbor, received a suspended prison sentence on Tuesday on condition they pay the money back.

Robert Tucker, 58, and Nancy Tucker, 56, admitted at a February hearing stealing from an elderly neighbor.

The Tuckers each received a 2-5 year prison sentence on Tuesday, which was suspended for five years.

“Your behavior is horrid,” Young told Robert Tucker. “You failed to admit that you did something wrong, even after you entered a guilty plea. You write a statement that says you’re a great guy, well you’re not a great guy. You’re nothing but a thief.”

Defense attorney Kris Brown said her client had a job and would be able to pay the restitution.

A court-appointed guardian told Young that the Tuckers hadn’t made any payments on their debt to the victim. She said the woman lived in fear that the Tuckers would harm her as a result of their prosecution.

The thefts came to light when a Nevada State Bank employee became concerned about the large amounts of money being taken out of the woman’s account.

The employee suspected the victim might have Alzheimer’s disease, and wasn’t capable of making decisions about her finances.

The elderly woman told officers she and the Tuckers were neighbors and had shared meals and played card games together.

She said she had loaned the couple money, and they had access to her bank account.

According to the criminal complaint, the Tuckers are accused of stealing checks, forging the victim’s signature, and cashing the checks.

The crimes occurred from Nov. 19, 2012 to June 12, 2013.

A 71-year-old man was arrested Sunday on a felony charge of forgery after he allegedly attempted to pass a phony $50 bill at a casino, according to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.

Roger Coney of Carson City was arrested at 8:18 p.m. in the 3500 block of Highway 50 East. According to the arrest report, the man went to the cashier’s cage at a casino in the 3800 block of Highway 50 East to cash in a $50 bill.

Carson City man arrested on illegal weapon charges

A 35-year-old Carson City ex-felon was arrested Thursday on suspicion of gross misdemeanor concealing and possessing a dangerous, illegal weapon.

The man was stopped for jaywalking across Long and Carson Street at around 6:30 p.m. He is known for prior felony entanglements with the law involving theft and drugs.

During a pat down for weapons, a Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team officer observed what appeared to be a bicycle pump hanging out of his right pants pocket while speaking with the man.

The deputy removed the object from the man’s pocket revealing a double edged-blade that ended in a pointed that had a metal flap with a spring on it. As the officer was looking at it, the man told the officer “don’t push that.” That’s when the officer realized it was a spring activated knife that deploys a blade, illegal in most states, including Nevada.

The officer depressed the flap and the knife blade a launched out from the front of the knife, the arrest report states. The man was arrested at 6:37 p.m. and faces two gross misdemeanor charges: possession of a dangerous weapon, and possession of a concealed weapon. Bail: $5,000.

In other arrests: A 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 10:35 a.m. in the 900 block of South Roop Street on a misdemeanor warrant for allegedly making a false crime report.

According to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the apartment address regarding a dispute between two roommates. A criminal background check revealed the confirmed warrant out of Carson City Justice Court issued May 5, 2014. Bail: $500.

Carson City man sentenced on child pornography charges

A Carson City man was sentenced Monday to 19 years in prison after pleading guilty to child pornography charges, including secretly videotaping female victims in the bathrooms of his home. After prison, he faces a lifetime of probation.

A 24-year-old woman set for release from Carson City Jail was rebooked Wednesday on a felony warrant charge out of Reno Township Justice Court.

Dana Louise Berger of Sparks remains in jail awaiting extradition to Reno. Bail: $5,000. The bench warrant was issued May 2, 2014 on a felony drug charge, failure to appear after admission.

In other arrests: A 21-year old Stagecoach woman was booked into Carson City Jail on Wednesday, 6:55 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant issued March 17, 2014 for violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $3,000.

— A 48-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday, 6:23 p.m. in the 4000 block of Village Drive on a contempt of court warrant charge out of East Fork Township. The misdemeanor warrant was for failure to remain at residential treatment. She is being held without bail awaiting extradition.

— A 43-year-old Tracy, Calif., man was arrested May 6, 12:10 p.m. at the intersection of Little and Roop streets in Carson City on a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant and driving on a suspended license.

According to the arrest report, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy stopped the man for speeding, doing 39 mph in a 25 mph. The officer spoke with the driver and he was checked by dispatch for warrants, which came back with one from Goodsprings Township and a license suspension. Bail: $1,042.

Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday on a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine. According to the arrest report, Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 3200 block of Imperial Way at 7:42 a.m. on a report of a man slumped over the wheel of a vehicle that belonged to his girlfriend.

 

Carson City Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Team arrest two in Corbett Street drug bust

Two people were jailed Friday on felony drug charges during an investigation that involved the Tri-County Gang Unit and the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team.

Rebecca Peltier, 31, was arrested at 6:44 p.m. in the 100 block of Corbett Street in Carson City on suspicion of maintaining a drug house, and possession of methamphetamine, both felonies. A 42-year-old Reno man, Jason Leon Baker, was also arrested on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Man booked into Carson City Jail on felony warrant of lewdness with a child

A 52-year-old Bryan Circle man was arrested Thursday on a felony warrant charge of lewdness with a child under the age of 14, according to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.

John Andrew Zglinski was taken into at 10:39 a.m. after deputies arrived at his home to serve him the warrant, issued April 28, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. When deputies arrived, the door to Zglinski’s home was open and he walked outside, according to the arrest report. Bail was set at $150,000.

Two women arrested after early morning vehicle chase with Carson City sheriff’s deputies

Two women were arrested early Wednesday morning after leading Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies on a vehicle chase that ended off road near the water tower off of Koontz Lane.

Amber Wolfe, 22, was arrested at 1:59 a.m. and faces felony charges of eluding and being in violation of probation conditions. She also faces lesser charges of reckless driving and operating a vehicle with expired registration. The Winnemucca woman is being held without bail on the probation violation charge and $20,000 bail on the eluding charge.

Carson City man jailed after allegedly threatening to kill ex-girlfriend with gun

A Carson City man was jailed Tuesday on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly broke into the home of his ex-girlfriend and threatened to kill himself and her with a semi-automatic handgun.

Jorge Alberto Garcia-Austria, 34, was arrested following the alleged incident that happened Monday in the woman’s Koontz Lane home. He is is being held on $23,137 bail.

Carson City sheriff’s deputies arrest pair on felony drug charges

A man and woman were arrested Monday on felony charges of possession of methamphetamine, according to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office. Mary Jenae Adams, 24, of Carson City and Michael Louis Kizer, 30, of Schurz, Nev., were taken into custody at 9:51 a.m. in the area of Northridge and Roop streets.

Woman faces felony burglary charge after breaking into apartment during fight with neighbor

Two Carson City women were arrested Sunday, with one being charged with felony burglary following a fight inside an apartment complex.

Debra Rasmussen, 56, is being held on $28,132 bail. She was arrested on suspicion of burglary and a lesser charge of domestic battery. The other woman, 47, faces misdemeanor charges of domestic battery and being in violation of a suspended sentence.

According to the arrest report, Carson City sheriff’s deputies were called to the 200 block of Carson Meadows after a report of two women fighting.

Man arrested after allegedly stalking teen at Carson High School track meet

A 58-year-old man was arrested Saturday by Carson City sheriff’s deputies on suspicion of being in possession of a firearm on school grounds and stalking, both gross misdemeanor offenses.

The Minden man was at a track meet at Carson High School and was stalking a female student, whom he made contact with a week prior, according to the arrest report. The man handed the student a business card, telling her: “Text me, hey, when you feel the time is right.”

Carson City sheriff’s SET team arrest man in Tri-Net heroin bust

A 31-year-old Carson City man was one of three arrested Wednesday, in the 300 block of East William Street by Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team officers in a heroin sting operation with the Tri-Net Narcotics Task Force.

Kenneth Jay Case faces a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor charges of obstructing an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia. Two others were arrested. The reports were not immediately available.

Dayton man arrested on felony burglary charge after confronting ex at restaurant

A 41-year-old man was jailed Monday on a felony charge of vehicle burglary and a lesser charge of domestic battery after an argument over taxes and paperwork escalated with his former common law wife at her place of business.

David Alexander of Dayton was being held at Carson City Jail on $28,137 bond. According to the arrest report, Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a casino in the 3800 block of South Carson Street in reference to a domestic battery.

Two Carson City men jailed on multiple felony charges following burglary, vehicle chase

Two men were arrested Monday and face multiple felony charges after they allegedly stole a vehicle and then went to Kohl’s where they stole an Xbox and then led Carson City sheriff’s deputies on a brief chase.

Jacob Andrew Pacheaco, 27, and Danny Maxfield Jr., 37, were arrested separately, with Maxfield jumping out of a moving vehicle, suffering injuries which required him to go the hospital.

Man jailed after allegedly injuring mother when she attempted to call 911 for help

Carson City sheriff’s deputies arrested a man Sunday after he allegedly tried to take a cell phone away from his mother who was attempting to call 911 for help after he became violent with her.

The Gardnerville man, Blane Allen Frazier, was arrested to the area of Highway 395 and I-580 freeway at 3:58 p.m. He faces a felony charge of preventing a victim from reporting a crime and lesser charges of domestic battery and open container.

Carson City man stopped for speeding arrested on weapon and warrant charges

A 43-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday in the 1000 block of Roop Street on a gross misdemeanor charge of possessing a dangerous weapon and four lessor charges including two warrants for failure to appear in court.

According to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office arrest report, deputies responded to the Roop location to assist Sgt. Scott McDaniel on a traffic stop, where the man was stopped on suspicion of driving 45 mph in a 25 mph zone.

Carson City sheriff’s deputies make two misdemeanor warrant arrests

A 22-year-old Carson City man was booked into the Carson City Jail on Wednesday, 4:45 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant charge of violation of a suspended sentence. The warrant was issued Jan. 23, 2013 out of Carson City Justice Court for failure to appear. Bail: $3,000.

In other arrests: A Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday, 7:15 a.m. in the 1700 block of North Curry Street on a contempt of court warrant charge, issued out of Carson City Justice Court.

Carson City man arrested on three misdemeanor traffic-related charges

A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of driving on a revoked license, a suspended registration and not having proof of insurance.

According to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office arrest report, a deputy made a traffic stop at Roop and Washington streets because of a suspended license plate.

Carson City man jailed on disorderly conduct charge after throwing fit inside casino

A 42-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday at a local casino on suspicion of misdemeanor charges of obstructing an officer, disorderly conduct and trespassing.

Carson City Sheriff’s office deputies arrested the man 8:47 p.m. in the 2100 block of East William Street. According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the casino after a patron refused to leave and was causing a disturbance.

Officers spoke with security who advised the man would not leave after being told to leave. Security offered the man a cab but the man refused and said he was going to stay.

A Carson City man was jailed Sunday on suspicion of felony domestic battery with strangulation. Michael Robson was arrested in the 1300 block of Ashby Court at 1:03 a.m.

According to the arrest report, Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the area of Menlo and Lompa streets after dispatch received a call about a female screaming and children crying.

Carson City man jailed after allegedly kicking deputy during arrest

A Carson City man was arrested Thursday on battery and resisting charges after he allegedly kicked an officer who was attempting to place handcuffs on him.

According to the arrest report, Carson City sheriff’s deputies were called to a residence in the 500 block of Long Street for a report of an out-of-control juvenile female. The mother of the girl told dispatch that her daughter had hit her in the arm and was destroying things in the house.

Carson City woman arrested on felony child abuse charge after striking son inside store

A 31-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of felony child abuse causing mental or physical harm after surveillance inside a retail store captured her backhanding her six-year-old son in the face for no apparent reason.

Ashley Rose Mields was arrested at Walmart, in the 3200 block of Market Street at 7 p.m., after Carson City dispatch received 911 calls from customers reporting the incident. She is being held on $40,000 bail.

Carson City sheriff’s deputies make three misdemeanor-related arrests overnight

A 19-year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Wednesday morning in the 1200 block of Crain Street on misdemeanor warrants of marijuana and paraphernalia possession.

According to the arrest report, a Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputy was alerted by dispatch that the woman was at her boyfriend’s home on Crain Street.

Officers went to the address and the woman was taken into custody at 3:26 a.m. based on the warrant issued April 7, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500.

Man booked into Carson City Jail on Wyoming felony warrant

A 47-year-old Kansas man was booked Monday into Carson City Jail on a felony warrant for being a fugitive from justice. John Paul Stewart was booked by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office jail staff. The warrant was filed for record March 18, 2013 out of Campbell County, Wyo. Stewart will be extradited.

Carson City man wanted by FBI on child pornography charges arrested

A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday and is being held without bail on suspicion of distributing and possessing child pornography.

Andrew Wayne Hamrick, a locksmith who lives in the 2800 block of Longridge Drive, was arrested at 9:23 a.m. by Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies. The FBI is also investigating.

According to the arrest report, deputies were attempting to locate a suspect vehicle from a FBI bulletin regarding Hamrick, who has a felony warrant.

Man jailed on drug charges gives Carson City officers his brother’s ID to avoid arrest

Two men were arrested Friday, 3:45 a.m. at the intersection of William and Stewart streets in Carson City on drug-related charges.

Casey S. Clifford, 20, faces a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine and three lesser charges: obstructing an officer, possession marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A 31-year-old man was also arrested on a misdemeanor warrant and possession of drug paraphernalia charges.

Carson City sheriff’s deputies arrest two in separate cases involving child neglect

Two people were arrested by Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies this weekend in separate cases, each on suspicion of child neglect and other charges.

In the first arrest, a 47-year-old Carson City woman was booked into jail Sunday, 12:50 a.m. after being arrested in the 1400 block of East William Street. She faces three gross misdemeanor counts of child endangerment, misdemeanor DUI and failure to maintain lanes.

Two women arrested after conspiring to smuggle heroin into Carson City Jail

A 25-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Thursday for felony possession of drugs after she allegedly attempted to smuggle a balloon with heroin inside to give to an inmate. The inmate faces a felony charge of conspiracy.

According to the arrest report, the woman accused of smuggling, Angela Moen, was booked into jail on a warrant and had made arrangements prior to being jailed to bring in the heroin to share with the inmate, Karina Decender, 23, according to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office arrest report.

Carson City sheriff’s SET team arrests man on warrant, finds meth in motel room

A 53-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and four misdemeanor charges including two counts violation of a suspended sentence.

Scott Alan Tucker is being held on $10,374 bond. According to the arrest report, deputies with the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team conducted a warrant service on Tucker at a motel room in the 2700 block of South Carson Street.

Man jailed Monday after making threats, charged with breaking glass window at Carson City Jail

A 41-year-old man, arrested earlier this week after allegedly making threats directed at the president and a Carson Tahoe Hospital doctor, faces a gross misdemeanor charge of causing damage to Carson City jail property after he broke a window with a cup.

According to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office report, the inmate called a jail deputy to the cell door where food is passed. The jail deputy, on two occasions, asked what the man needed but didn’t get a response.

Carson City man arrested at motel on suspicion of felony parole and probation violation

A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Tuesday morning and placed on a felony parole and probation hold after allegedly violating conditions of his alternative sentencing agreement.

Mark Edward Davis was booked into Carson City Jail on the charge after being arrested at a motel in the 2700 block of South Carson Street. A Reno man was also arrested on a misdemeanor warrant.

Dayton man jailed for not registering as a sex offender

A 47-year-old man was arrested Monday in the area of Arrowhead and Centennial Park Drive in Carson City for allegedly failing to register as a sex offender.

Manuel Jesus Zavala of Dayton taken into custody at 4:43 p.m. on the felony charge and three misdemeanors: driving on a revoked or suspended license, speeding and failure to appear.

Several drinking related and warrant arrests keep Carson City deputies occupied this weekend

A 37-year-old Carson City man was jailed Saturday after allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol with a small child in the car without a safety seat.

According to the arrest report, a Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputy observed the man driving and failing to main his lane of travel and changing directions onto the Carson City freeway without using a signal.

The vehicle then was observed going southbound between Highway 50 East and Fairview Drive, drifting over the broken white line and crossing the right fog lane line, the arrest report states.

Carson City Sheriff’s Office make multiple felony drug-related arrests over weekend

A home care provider was booked Friday into Carson City Jail on three felony warrants charges involving burglary, grand larceny and possession of stolen property.

Ella May Dix, 50, of Reno was taken into custody by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office after the woman arrived at the front counter for the warrants. The three felony charges are out of Las Vegas Justice Court and issued Jan. 15, 2014. Bail: $80,000.

Carson City deputies make two alcohol-related arrests

Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies made three misdemeanor related arrests Wednesday. A 54-year-old man was arrested Wednesday, 1:30 p.m. in the 100 block of East Corbett on suspicion of indecent conduct after he allegedly stood in the street and urinated.

The man did not have identification on him and was reported to be homeless. A preliminary breath test was given with a .17 reading, according to the arrest report. Bail: $347.

A 32-year-old home care worker turned herself into the Carson City Sheriff’s Office early Tuesday on a felony warrant for her arrest.

Amy Lynne Wolf of Carson City was taken into custody at 1 a.m. on March 25. A warrant was issued Feb. 27, 2014 on a charge of suspicion of fraudulent use of a credit card. A $5,000 bondable was set and she was released from jail on that bond.

In other arrests: A man jailed Sunday on felony drug and fugitive charges had an additional misdemeanor charge added Tuesday after he failed to appear in a Carson City courtroom in May 2007 on a traffic citation.

Fights, foot chases and felony drug arrests keep Carson City deputies busy over weekend

A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after a chase through a field near Highway 50 and Fairview Drive.

Hector Cervantes is being held in Carson City Jail without bail on a parole violation charge and $10,428 bail for other charges.

According to the arrest report, Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies responded at 12:31 a.m. to the 2800 block of Century Drive where there had been several people outside a home yelling and screaming. It turned out to be a large house party where several underage people were drinking.

Carson City deputies arrest woman wanted in Texas with $500,000 bail warrant

A 50-year-old Sacramento woman was arrested in Carson City Saturday on a felony fugitive justice warrant out of Texas. Loures Ruano was being held on $500,337 and is awaiting extradition.

A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, March 20, on multiple misdemeanor warrant charges including contempt of court and larceny.

According to the arrest report, the sergeant for the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team was patrolling the area of William and Rand streets at around 10 p.m. when he observed the suspect and knew he had outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Carson City man arrested, admits to stealing car and stripping it of tires and rims

A 29-year-old man was arrested Thursday on felony charges of possession of stolen property and grand larceny of an automobile, according to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.

Jonathan Baumgardner is being held on $25,000 bail. He admitted to stealing a vehicle, stripping it of its tires and rims and then dumping it in a parking lot, according to the arrest report filed by the investigating detective.

Woman jailed after leaving without paying at Carson City grocery store

A 25-year-old Dayton woman was arrested Wednesday at a Carson City supermarket after allegedly eating food without paying and then attempting to walk out of the store with a can of Dust Off.

According to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office arrest report, the woman faces misdemeanor charges of larceny and violation of bail conditions. Deputies were dispatched to a William Street supermarket at 1:39 p.m. on a report of a larceny.

Eighteen-year-old Carson City man arrested for DUI, driving without insurance

An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 11:55 p.m. at Roop Street and Northridge. He faces four misdemeanor charges including first offense DUI, driving on a suspended registration, no proof of insurance and minor consuming alcohol.

According to the arrest report, a Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputy conducted a routine registration check on a vehicle that came back as suspended. The deputy initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle as it was traveling eastbound on Northridge near Roop.

A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic battery with strangulation after allegedly grabbing his girlfriend by the throat, holding her to the point where the woman thought she was going to die, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office.

Arnold Flores-Estrada was arrested at 4:35 p.m. in the 3300 block of South Carson Street with bail set at $15,352.

Carson City man jailed on felony vehicle burglary charges, allegedly smashes car windows

A 19-year-old Carson City man faces three felony counts vehicle burglary after he allegedly smashed the windows of several vehicles in 700 block of Silver Oak Drive Wednesday night.

Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Jacob Vizenor, who also faces four gross misdemeanor charges of tampering with motor vehicles and three misdemeanor charges, including battery, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. His bail has been set at $88,011.

Robert Edwin Deuel, 43, of Dayton, was arrested Friday afternoon in the 3300 block of Highway 50 East for felony extortion and gross misdemeanor possession of a dangerous weapon.

According to the arrest report, Carson City Sheriff deputies were concluding a traffic stop on Arrowhead Drive when a woman approached them with information about vehicle that had recently been stolen from her. She said Deuel had contacted her, and said he would take her to the car if she paid him money.

A 74-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Thursday, 12:35 p.m. at Arrowhead and Bowers. The man allegedly hit a number of mailboxes with his vehicle.

Carson City deputies stop man after he allegedly drives truck into mail boxes

A man was stopped at around noon Thursday on Arrowhead Drive in Carson City after allegedly driving his truck into mailboxes on Sunrise Drive and then fleeing the scene.

Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies detained the man after two reports came into dispatch beginning at 11:47 a.m. of a man in a gray pickup hitting mailboxes as he was leaving the scene.

When deputies caught up with the driver on Arrowhead Drive, the vehicle had a flat tire. The Carson City Fire Department was called to evaluate the man. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

According to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office arrest report, a deputy made contact with the man at 3:23 a.m. inside an apartment in the 500 block of Country Village. The man denied he had called 911. Officers spoke with other witnesses inside the apartment who verified the man had taken his girlfriend’s phone and locked himself in the bedroom.

Carson City woman arrested, taken to hospital after admitting to hiding drug needles

Two Carson City women were arrested Saturday on felony charges of possession of methamphetamine. Both were taken to the hospital after one admitted that she had two hypodermic needles hidden in her vagina, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office arrest report.

Karesa Steepe, 22, and Mary Janae Adams, 24, were arrested at 4:55 p.m. at College Parkway and Goni streets.
